What’s up everybody, I decided that I would like to share some of my crap that I have accumulated lately with y’all. It’s not much, but it is always fun to add anything to the collection. I’ll start off with what I have found at the newest and closest retro gaming store in my area, Retro Game Pro. I was super excited when I found out they would be opening because most of the game stores that I was aware of were pretty far. I had a great time going in to check the place out and grabbing a couple games. This actually reminded me that I found a huge haul of boxes in amazing condition. IN THE TRASH!!! At work?! I couldn’t believe someone would keep them in such good condition and then toss them like that so I had to bring them to Gary at the store. He made me a deal to trade them for some Genesis controllers that I have been needing and I was just glad to see them find a good home.
Yeah so some really good games there, many included the manuals and inserts there were no games in any of the boxes but I have already seen collectors in the area posting pics of them snagging them from the store to add to their collection which is what I was hoping for. I did not have the room for the time being so I was glad to see that people can put them to good use. Moving on to what I have gotten from Retro Game Pro though, I was able to find a copy of Wonder Boy for the Sega Genesis and one of the Lord of the Ring games for GameCube.
Today was actually my latest pick up from RGP which will lead me to the latest restoration I did last night. I grabbed two new N64 reproduction controllers that work great and look great with the system that I was given by a coworker recently. He didn’t like the condition of it and ended up getting a new one with an everdrive packed with games from someone else. I offered to buy it off of him as a project but he wouldn’t accept a payment. It is the Jungle Green version so I was super stoked to get one no matter the condition. It was very bad, but I will get to that in a moment.
So the console that my friend passed along to me had a full crayon literally melted in it! I couldn’t believe it when I got the thing open. Definitely the most hilarious encounter I have had while opening an old console. There was a dead bug in the Saturn I have, but that pales in comparison to an entirely melted red crayon.
So I just have a couple more things to rattle off on the list. I hit up a goodwill one day and found a bin full of Boxed PC games for .50¢ a piece. I don’t have my PC built yet, been some serious technical issues getting it together. I couldn’t pass up on those deals though, had to at least grab the good ones.
And lastly but not leastly, we have the garage sale that me and my wife stopped by today with some fun little treasures. I have never played Stubbs the Zombie but have always wanted to and I love the Dawn of War series so for 2 & 4 bucks I had to grab those. The Mario Checkers was just way too cool to pass on for 2$ and I have been hoping to get into tabletop and always see Munchkin games at the stores so I was ecstatic to find one for good condition and at only 5$. I see now why people swear by garage sales, there are some great deals to be found there. I had just missed out on a PS1 & a huge box of Nintendo games, but that is just how it goes sometimes.
Thanks for checking in and seeing what I have been finding in my game hunting lately, what are some of your favorite things you have found recently? I would love to hear if you want to drop a comment below.
