Clash of Champions Predictions (2019)

Better late than never, lets get in on a bit of this prediction hype for tomorrow’s WWE Clash of Champions PPV. I would be happy to hear some of your own predictions below and we can see how good or bad we do after the matches tomorrow night!

Cruiserweight Championship

Drew Gulak (c) vs. Lince Dorado vs. Humberto Carrillo

I am not going to lie, this one is a total shot in the dark for me. I do not keep up with 205 live or NXT, although I may start watching NXT when it comes to USA. I was just going to go with the champion to retain on this one, but it would be cool to see Lince Dorado win after all the crap they have given him with the Lucha House Party, so let’s go with that, why not? Lince Dorado to win like Andy Dufrane, swimming through a sewer drain full of shit just to come out clean on the other side! I like it, we will see how it goes.

My pick = Lince Dorado

Intercontinental Championship

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. The Miz

I think it is about time that the WWE put some gold around the waist of The Miz. His show has done great since it started to air, my wife and I even like to watch it occasionally. I think he deserves to be rewarded after putting up some amazing matches during that Shane McMahon feud that just lead to him getting buried by the bosses son just like everyone else besides Roman Reigns. I think they might also take the opportunity to move Shinsuke to NXT once it comes to USA to add some more star power to the roster.

My Pick = The Miz

Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The New Day (c) vs. The Revival

I would like to start out by saying that after seeing all of those YouTube videos by the Bullet Club, I can not help but wonder every time that I see the trunks The Revival wear why they are representing #FTR which automatically makes me think fuck The Revival. Of course it stands for Forever The Revival as referenced on their merch, but it still cracks me up all the time when I see it. To the predictions though. I feel like The New Day will be retaining all around on this PPV and if I am wrong I will ride that ship into the deep blue sea! New Day should be keeping all of the belts for a bit longer after all the hard work they have put in for the company. Or in short, FTR.

Raw Tag Team Championship

Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

I definitely think the belts will be swapping over to the challengers in this one. It feels like they just kind of threw Dolph and Bobby together after their recent programs bombed. Dolph being an annoying crybaby, Bobby being a blatant and weird rip-off of Ravishing Rick Roode, now they are going to combine forces and take advantage of what was obviously never going to last as a tag team in the first place. Strowman or Rollins will hit each other with something accidentally, which will lead to something happening on purpose, which will give the opposing team the chance to win over the distracted babyfaces.

My Pick = Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

Women’s Tag Team Championship

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross (c) vs. Fire & Desire

I don’t understand what they have going with Alexa & Nikki and would be happy to see the angle put to an end. I am also confused about whether they are trying to turn the duo into babyfaces or not and the whole thing is just pretty muddled and confusing. I think Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are as good of a team as any that the women’s division has to offer, so why not put the belts on a legitimate team that can elevate the division and get some kind of interesting storylines going within it.

My Pick = Fire & Desire

United States Championship

A.J. Styles (c) vs. Cedric Alexander

In this one I will have to go with AJ to retain. I would be happy to see him drop the belt and move on to the Universal title spot, but I don’t think that Cedric has enough steam behind him for that yet. I could be wrong and they could use this as a way to build steam behind him, in which case I will be happy to see AJ move to the main event where he belongs. Maybe Gallows & Anderson could even get their belts back at that point too.

My Pick = A.J. Styles

Smackdown Women’s Championship

Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair

I am going to go with Bayley to retain in this one and make a shock prediction that they will give Bayley and Sasha a run at the top. Charlotte, Becky, Bayley, & Sasha were the 4 horse-women in NXT and I think it is as good a time as any to give the other half of that stable a huge main event push to ensure a strong women’s division for the future. I could definitely see it going the opposite way and leaving the top 2 at the top while Bayley and Sasha regroup and go for another tag team title run, but I am gonna stick to my guns and choose Bayley for this one.

My Pick = Bayley

Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan

I would like to see something in this one that makes the plot thicken and keeps the mystery going. Maybe it turns out that Daniel Bryan really was involved, or maybe a third person runs in on the match who also had a hand in it. It is a pretty interesting angle and I think their could still be some life to it if they proceed in the right direction. Lets go with Rowan in this one due to some unforeseen circumstances, or possibly even Roman by DQ but since I can not choose both I will say Rowan with a shady win.

My Pick = Erick Rowan

WWE Championship

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. As much as I would love to see Randy Orton as a world champion again, I just don’t think this is the story that will end up with him getting there. I see Kofi retaining in this rematch, and hopefully they will pull the plug after that to avoid running this match into the ground over, and over, and over, stupid stupid stupid… Woah, sorry. Lost myself for a second there, Kofi for the W.

My Pick = Kofi Kingston

Raw Women’s Championship

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks

I already spoiled my prediction for this one earlier in the post, but already it sounds unbelievable even to me. I just don’t know if I can see them doing anything to slow the momentum of the movement that The Man has created, but I already laid the prediction down and there is no backing out of that now. Sasha Banks for the win in this one, possibly with the help of Bayley to become co-champs with the Boss & Hug Connection. By the way, I can not be the only one thinking that 2 heels coming out with a bunch of wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men is one of the strangest things, especially with that upbeat music to go along with it.

My Pick = Sasha Banks

Universal Championship

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Braun Strowman

I am convinced now that no matter how much hype or momentum Braun is able to gather, they are just never going to give him a world championship. I am being facetious of course, but after the spots that Braun has been in before to get the belt, I highly doubt that this is the one that will get him his time. I also have a feeling the Fiend is going to strike during or after this match so it could end up with Rollins retaining by DQ when Bray Wyatt arrives. Either way though I see the belt staying on Rollins after this one.

My Pick = Seth Rollins

Well that will wrap up my picks, let me know what you think about them and how your picks are shaping up as well. I am always interested in hearing what everyone else thinks in this time leading up to the next pay per view. I will see y’all for the results after the show tomorrow night!
