Ok I’m going to start off by saying I have no idea who the cover athlete is this year.. Evan Longoria maybe? I may be a bit out of touch with sports and anything requiring cable or a satellite, but this game is highly addictive. I’m going to go ahead and call this game and its predecessor the best baseball games for mobile since Baseball Superstars 2012, if you don’t know what game that is.

There’s no story mode in Tap Sports to compare to the RPG style of Baseball Superstars, but Glu Games has put up 2 extremely solid baseball sims. You collect real players, build up your team, improve upon your record, play online, and they have even added some new features this year including trades.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that they would be annualizing this game after how much fun I had with the 2015 version featuring David “Big Papi” Ortiz as its cover athlete (nailed that one :p). It’s especially fun when you get your friend to play and are able to repeatedly hand them their butts after they are sufficiently kicked.
So check it out! Tap Sports is a “Home Run” (see what I did there?) and while your at it download Baseball Superstars, they are both great games and are both free on the App Store.
